IMPORTANT:
THIS WILL BE A FULL DAY EVENT - You may want to bring food and water onto your watercraft with you or bring a bag or storage container that we will transport for you on one of the volunteer rescue boats.

Rules and Regulations:

All participants are required to provide (1) one life vest or jacket per participant - this life vest MUST be worn for the duration of the event.

Participants must sign the "Liability Release Waiver" prior to launching their watercraft.

No Alcohol Allowed

Participants riding single person watercraft must be 18 years or older. Minors must be accompanied by an adult and are only allowed to ride on a multi person watercraft with an adult.

General Safety Issues
1. All craft MUST be equipped with a CG approved life vest.
2. An Assumption of Risk form MUST be signed before you enter the race course.
3. Safety escort boats are for saving humans first. The safety of the paddler, the chase boat driver and his vessel are first, then comes the issue of your paddlecraft.
4. Participants are expected to know their limitations and skill level. Do not participate if you do not feel up to it.
5. Paddle smart. Watch surf lines and boat traffic.

* "Life jackets and whistles are required for all participants. Those not wearing a lifejacket or without a lifejacket on their boat will be disqualified. All participants are required to suspend paddling and aid any participant in distress. The Director reserves the right to require participants to wear life jackets, to refuse entry to any participant and to change the course. All decisions of the Director are final."

Emergency Considerations
In the event of a "huli" or capsized watercraft that has not sustained permanent damage-
stay with your watercraft if is still afloat. Signal for the nearest paddler if you are having difficulty righting your watercraft.
*ALL participants: Be aware that SAFETY is FIRST. If you see someone encountering trouble on the course, please determine that they are OK before proceeding.

Signaling for help
Participants wishing to
receive assistance from safety boats are to simply wave both arms in the air and/or signal by blowing your whistle.
